We are delighted to announce that one of our window fitters, Victoria Hinton, has reached the final of this year’s 30 Under 30 Awards. The award scheme recognises individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the home improvement industry. We cannot think of a more deserving finalist than Tori, whose hard work and dedication has been an inspiration to the entire team here at DW Windows.
What are the 30 Under 30 Awards?
The FIT Show has teamed up with Windows Active to create the first-ever 30 Under 30 Awards programme for the glazing industry. The awards will spotlight the rising stars of glazing who are making a positive difference in the industry.
The winner will be announced at The FIT Show, taking place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on 10-12th May. The event is the UK’s biggest fenestration exhibit, showcasing the very best that the glazing and home improvement industry has to offer. We’re delighted that one of our brilliant team members is being recognised at such a prestigious event.
Tori’s story
Tori’s career started in the construction industry, working alongside her Step-Dad. It was here that she was first introduced to the world of windows. Four years later, she decided to change direction and pursue a career as a carpenter for a small family business. However, she always hoped for a return to glazing. She was ready to start an HNC in Building Studies at the University of Wolverhampton when the opportunity arose to join DW Windows as the first female window fitter mate.
In her role, she works in a two-person team to install windows and doors in homes across Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands. Her work and attitude have been outstanding, and she has quickly become an incredibly valuable member of the team. Looking to become DW Windows’ first-ever female window fitter, she is an inspiration for any women looking to join the glazing industry.
